I bought the surf adaptor wanting to try something new and rediscover the love I had for the zen moments of flow I felt when I was younger. I’m too old for technical skating, but have rediscovered my roots in surf skating. Meanwhile my kids are stealing my board all the time and are saving their money for adaptors of their own. I’ll be ordering the rail adaptor soon! Thanks for the fun.
Very good construction quality, easier to install than i thought it would be. Very interesting way to ride a board.
Surf and Rail Adapter High Performance Pack
Waterborne Skateboards Ultra Soft T-Shirt
Great adapters, easy to install and super fun.
Super soft shirt is right! Nice way to rep the adaptor
Fast service and a smooth ride!!!
When I put these puppies on my e-board the experience felt like I was riding on water. It made it more fun to ride and even going 18 mph downhill felt very stable. No speed wobbles. Easy to assemble, super curvy and a whole lot of fun on the asphalt.
It works very good. It’s got me back riding again.
Simply smashing gizmo, being enjoyed in the uk - when it’s not f*****g raining!
These adapters are badass. My 34” cruiser turned into a land shredding short board. So much fun! The pumping and tight turns are insane. I loved it so much I ended up getting another set and built up a 42” bamboo pintail. It took a bit to get used to the pumping because of the length but once I got the hang of it I could not stop riding. With the longer wheel base, carving is more graceful and smooth.
If you surf and skate, you owe it to yourself. Get a set. You will not regret it.
Thank you Waterbourne!!! You’re company rocks!!!!
Rides just like the reviews show, very smooth, beautiful curves. Easy to attach. Highly recommend.
These adapters will turn conventional TPK trucks into a surfskate that compares to a Carver C7/Gullwing Sidewinder surfskate setup. The feel is more surf-like (flow and carve) than any unmodified Carver or YOW complete.
The closest comparison would be a modified C7 and Gullwing C7 (front) and Gullwing Sidewinder (rear) or YOW adapter/Gullwing setup.
Definitely the best deal in surfskate as of July 2019.
The Waterborne Surfskate Adapter is a must have for any skateboard unless your using it for tricks. With traditional trucks the turn angle is about 30° at the most but with this genius invention you can make 90° turns safely. The look & quality finish is top notch with real carbon fiber on the front extension & rear adapter. You may have to do some mods to make it fit your electric skateboard but it's possible (universal fit) & it will last a lifetime so you can use it for several boards. The faster you ride the less the adapter turns making it more stable than before. It will raise the board height about 2inches but it increases wheel base (w/ ext piece) giving the board more room to flex making my bamboo deck feel like a pillow going over rough cement (more shock absorption). Shipping was fast & customer service was direct as I needed help getting rear bracket installed. He messaged me instantly through Instagram.
This takes skateboarding to a different level, really feels like your surfing. All you want to do is carve and flow. Such an amazing product. Please do yourself a favor and purchase one. You won't regret it.
The Surf and Rail adapters in combination with each other are a game changer for us guys that land surf when we can't get in the ocean in Hawaii. I love mine, installed on my OG 90's Tony Hawk board and wouldn't take it off for any reason. Full flow, SUPER tight turns, and rail to rail action for as long as the road leads me. I liked my old board with just the Surf Adapter at first, but found it even more enjoyable with the Rail Adapter installed as it IMHO flowed better from rail to rail, and felt like my back trucks would hold better without kicking out at the wrong moment when turning hard/cutting back. You can definitely release the back with little effort, but I'm about flow in my surfing and not just tearing a wave to pieces every turn.
I'm an almost 50 year old surfer who skated gutters as a kid when there wasn't any surf, or when I couldn't find a ride to a break, and I know that this is as close to the feeling and mechanics of surfing as you can get outside of the ocean. I especially appreciate that I could install the Waterborne Surf and Rail Adapter to my favorite stick that I was most comfortable with, and that made all the difference in the world to me. I still surf twice a week, every week, and ride my "adapted skate" everyday I don't surf, just to keep my stoke up and to work on perfecting my body mechanics for surfing as it is amazing the bad habits you can pick up and get away with when you've been surfing for almost 40 years...
All I can say is thanks to Patrick and the crew at Waterborne Skateboards for engineering something that's provided me hours of enjoyment since I purchased it. My skateboard "reborn" that was just sitting in the corner for years is now ridden almost daily which is a great surf training and a workout for us old dudes who need it to stay in the water...
Get wet, stay salty, share waves, and be kind to everyone you meet...
5 Stars for the product and their customer service. Thanks guys!!!
The surf adapter is awesome. I tried it first with regular Indy trucks. Switched to my avenue trucks which gave a much more fluid/floating feel, and also made it easier to keep speed when carving. (the avenues does this in verts and pool as well)
The surf adapter doesn't allow you to turn on a coin from standstill, but it carves super tight and is pretty stable since the pivot point is a couple inches in front of the wheels.
The back adapter was not my cup of tea. Basically it reduces the turning of the back truck. Wheelbite is more likely due to this. You can lean on the board for carves and the adapters bushings get squished instead of the trucks. It should make it easier to gain speed with this, but I like it when the rear turns, I put an angled riser on my back truck for more turning. With the avenues it feels a bit like you're powersliding on snow if you turn sharply with the back. Carve wide enough and it kicks into a real slide easily.
Most boards should be flexible enough to still turn mostly with the front for speed.
Greatly recommended! Price is right, you can use your favourite trucks and feeling is unbeatable. You'll never want to go back to pushing.
Bought this for my boyfriends birthday and he’s obsessed with it!!! Every time we’re out and he’s riding, we always get compliments. This board is sick and I will definitely be buying another.
Was purchased as a gift! And this thing is so much fun to ride! Patrick was seriously the nicest person ever in customer service! 100% always recommending and telling people about this board!
When I was done for the workweek and need my weekend to relax, I wasn't sure how to. Didn't have much free-time hobbies other than chilling at my home and pretty much wasting the day getting bored. Now when the weekend comes, I anticipate the bright sunny days, hop over to my nearest local park and take my surfskate setup along the way. Got the surf adapter before the rail adapter came out and I was enjoying every moment. Then when the rail adapter was released, I knew I had to get it. I did and it enhanced my setup. I don't know how it could get any better. As weird as it sounds, if I never came across your products, I don't think I would have pushed myself to learn how to skate. Thanks Waterborne for giving this boring soul some life and excitement.
This board is unique AF and super fun. The waterborne adapter is amazing on any setup, but this complete carves sooo hard, has great response from the carbon fiber board, and has a back truck surf adapter that sexes the whole thing up pretty hard. I have a Carver surfskate complete that I bought 3 years ago. I changed out the carver system for a waterborne adapter and have been shredding so much harder ever since. The Waterborne adapter is waaaaayyy better than the Carver system. Superior physics and engineering. So much pump and carve. Superfan for life. I have 3 waterborne “adapted” boards and I friggin love them.
Awesome ride!! I have been having a blast cruising around Vancouver with my Aries board! Feels like surfing!
I'm 35 and my achilles tendon is pretty trashed. I work weekends and would try and skate Mondays so my tendons would be in decent shape for work on Sat. With the ability to pump rather than push has made a world of difference. I can skate daily with minimal pain. The fact that it's an adapter meaning I choose what deck and what trucks I use puts these miles ahead of similar products.
There are a lot of innovations on the market but the railadapter (and surfadapter) from waterborne are next level surfskating.
Quickly shipping and good adapter
Absolutely love this board. So easy to ride and cruise yet also able to do tight turns or slides. It's a perfectly balanced skateboard.
Made my little voard. :
This surf adapter is Epic fun. I've had so much fun riding and figuring out just how fare you can push it before you eat it. Love the product guys. I would recommend this product to everyone that loves board sports.
I've been holding off on the whole electric skateboard thing because I just have so much damn fun carving with my Carver Board and electric skateboards have seemed about as fun as electric scooters to me. Once Riptide announced their R1 Black though, I got my hands on one right away. By far the most fun board I've ever ridden! You can carve down a hill just coasting on the board, then when you get to the bottom, throttle up and bomb right to the top! Super impressed with the Waterborne adapter! This thing is surfboard on wheels! Oh, and it's electric!!!
Worth every penny! Love bombing down every hill I see!
My dad grew up surfing and he loves it so much
Great way to change a regular skate into a carving board. Love it.
This product lived up to my expectations and exceeded them. The surf adapter made my longboard incredibly fun to ride, thank you so much waterborne. All of my friends want one now!
